2014 PSAT/SAT Parent Information Night!

Attention parents,

Harmony Science Academy-Laredo will be hosting a PSAT/SAT Information Night on September 2, 2014, from 6:00pm-7:00pm at the HSA cafeteria. Students in grades 9-11 will take the PSAT, while students in grade 12 will take the SAT on October. These tests are of monumental importance. Please make plans to attend.

2014 CRLP Parent Information Night!

We welcome you to our 2014 CRLP Parent Information Night that will take place during PSAT/SAT Parent night. We will be presenting our College Readiness and Leadership Program. Please make plans to attend!


It is with great honor to announce that Harmony Science Academy-Laredo will be extending a $200.00 scholarship towards your child’s dual credit tuition at Texas A&M International University.

In order to qualify for this scholarship, students must fulfil the following requirements:
Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher
Display excellent behavior
Receive TAMIU’s Dual Credit scholarship.

This scholarship is non-renewable. Students receiving scholarships for the Fall semester might not receive a scholarship for the Spring semester. Please note that this is a competitive scholarship.

Your child is responsible for any other fees or supplies, such as books and supplies.

Chromebooks Ready for Pick Up!

Attn: Parents and Students

Chromebooks for 6th - 9th grade students are ready for pick up. If you have not yet picked up your assigned chromebook, please stop by the office to submit your insurance payment and make your way to the library with Ms. Reed to receive your chromebook. For further questions please contact the front office or Ms. Reed at Ext. #132.

Texas Education Agency has recently announced the Accountability Ratings for Texas Public Schools and Districts. We are happy to announce that HSA Laredo has received 3 distinctions for 2013-2014 academic year. We would like to thank all our students, teachers and parents for this great success.

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge!

Students can donate $3 minimum (no maximum) to see administration and counselors do the ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE. Students can pay in the morning, and they will receive a ticket to come and watch the event. Together we can help a great cause! All monies raised will be donated to the ALS Association.

Message to Parents!

Attention parents! Students will not be allowed to be picked up after 3:10. You will have to wait until classes end at 3:45. Only in an extreme emergency will the student be released to the parent during class session.

Atencion padres! No podran recoger a los estudiantes despues de las 3:10. Tendran que esperar al terminar las clases a las 3:45. Si hay un caso de emergencia, el estudiante podra irse con los papas.

Notice About Career Technical Education (CTE) Courses

The Office for Civil Rights (OCR) of the United States Department of Education requires that local education agencies (LEAs) provide career and technical education (CTE) programs, services, and activities in accordance with the requirements of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has regulatory responsibilities for CTE programs in Texas public secondary schools and is required to adopt a civil rights compliance program to identify, remedy, and/or prevent discrimination in the CTE programs operated by LEAs.
Harmony Science Academy - San Antonio, provides CTE courses and with this announcement notify students, parents, employees, and the general public that all career and technical education opportunities will be offered without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, or disability.

2014 TAMIU Dual Credit Program!

Attention students and parents, as per our partnership with Texas A&M International University, juniors and seniors will have the opportunity to take college courses at TAMIU. In order to qualify for the Dual Credit Program, students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and must pass the Texas Success Initiative Assessment.

Juniors are to enroll in English 1301 (English Composition I), and seniors are to enroll in Political Science 2305 (Federal Government). Classes begin on Wednesday, August 27.

Fall Courses: FRIDAY, AUGUST 15

Students who have previously registered must submit the Re-Authorization Form, while students who have never registered must submit the Concurrent Enrollment Form. Please pick up the form at TAMIU. These forms may be picked up and turned in to the Office of Recruitment at the Zaffirini Student Success Center, Room 130. Students need not apply for the scholarship, however, are highly encouraged to do so. A student may register until the first class day to be able to take the course.

If you plan to take dual credit courses and are a permanent resident or are not a US citizen, please contact the Office of Recruitment in regards to the health insurance policies.
